Plans for Youth Program 2010-2011
Pot-Luck and Discussion Aug 26, 6:30 pm
Members of the Youth Ministry Team have met with Rev. Stephanie and discussed an inclusive "program of spiritual formation for young people" called The Journey to Adulthood. This program is meant for children from middle school and up (literally to adulthood) and would be complementary to the Godly Play and Seasons of the Spirit programs for our younger children. Stephanie stressed that this program will "take the village" of St. Stephen's to succeed.
Before we commit our time and treasure to instituting J2A, we invite you to preview it and then attend a meeting of St. Stephen's families to discuss whether/not to establish J2A at St. Stephen's. An overview of the program is available HERE. Please take some time to review the website which includes a "Youth Ministry Discernment Process" and other useful information.
A meeting and potluck to discuss J2A with Rev. Stephanie is scheduled for Thursday, August 26th, at 6:30 p.m.
Please bring your ideas and energy and some food to share. While we understand this date will not work for everyone, we must start the dialogue this summer. If you are unable to attend, please provide me or another attendee with your comments and thoughts.
Thanks!

“I've been doing youth work in the Church for over 30 years, and I am moved by the heart for youth this Parish displays.
Please consider joining this truly caring and awesome group of friends during your middle and high school years.
It will be the time of your life.”
