St Stephen’s welcomes The Rev. Dr. Suzi Robertson as Interim Rector

The Vestry are pleased to announce the interim rector, The Rev. Dr. Suzi Robertson as the new spiritual leader at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Seattle.  Suzi is noted as a program visionary, a compassionate pastor and a traditional leader in worship, community development and training.  She has a long list of credentials and publications, which include work in children’s ministry, administration, and leadership and four theological degrees. She is a spouse, sister, mother, aunt and grandmother.

Suzi comes supported by The Right Rev. Greg Rickel, Bishop of the Diocese of Olympia, ”It is with great joy that I welcome the Rev. Dr. Suzi Robertson back to the Diocese of Olympia as she begins her new work as interim rector of St. Stephen’s, Seattle.  St. Stephen’s has been a prominent point of nurture as a neighborhood church.  Its facilities are beautiful, it is well led with gifted music and administrative leaders on staff and among the laity. It deserves the best we can offer.”

Suzi previously served in the Diocese of Olympia at The Episcopal Church of the Good Samaritan in Sammamish from 2009-2015, where she took the church from mission to parish status during her tenure. Bishop Rickel (before he was Bishop) and Dr. Robertson were colleagues from their time in the Diocese of Texas, when they were each rector of a majority minority parish in Austin and Houston, respectively.  Most recently Suzi was the founding priest of a new Episcopal Campus for the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd in Granbury, TX, where she led the church as they made the discernment to build a new church campus, completed in 2019.

Every church and school she has served has experienced growth in both numbers and leadership. She intends for St. Stephen’s to be the neighborhood church for the whole region.

Dr. Robertson and her husband, the Rev. Nolen D. Holcomb, are excited to have the opportunity to serve at St. Stephens, ready to work with its leadership, and can’t wait to arrive in Seattle.

This new ministry begins on August 22nd, when The Rev. Robertson will lead our Sunday worship. The entire community is invited to celebrate with St. Stephen’s at 10:00 A.M.
