If a major emergency interrupts our regular means of communication, volunteers will set up an emergency communications HUB to help neighbors share information e.g., impassable streets, open grocery stores, missing people and pets, items or services offered or needed. The Hub is your Hub! Come to the drill and learn how Ham Radio operators will communicate with the City and other Seattle neighborhoods. Collect information about earthquake preparation. Enter a drawing to win useful emergency items. Eat ice cream.

New this year is a first aid tent for dispensing advice and basic first aid. Also new, LEAP is forming a bicycle emergency team to carry messages and supplies post-earthquake. To volunteer, bring your bike to the drill at 2 pm for a bicycle drill exercise.
